Unknown are the reasons -but their is a purpose

A monk was travelling , after a big storm ,disheartened he stopped looked around , and mumbled -"everything is wrong . Where is god , where is nature ; does anything have a purpose in life . Look at the huge banyan tree , it is so big but it has a small fruit the size of a small almond. Look at that huge creeper lying on the floor , it has a fruit which is a huge pumpkin .Nothing has been matched , there is no perfection , maybe god / nature have gone wrong .Wrong things have wrong pairs ". He kept on feeling unhappy & sorry ; then grumbling he fell asleep under the huge banyan tree.

The storm continued to rage , he was protected by the huge tree , suddenly the small banyan fruit fell on the monk ; he got up frightened , looked at the small fruit , at the huge banyan tree ; the creeper and the huge pumpkin growing on the creeper.

He wondered to himself "maybe nature was correct , if the banyan tree had a fruit the size of a pumpkin ; and instead of the small fruit , the pumpkin would have fallen on me , i would be dead "

message
Unknown are the ways of nature ; unknown are the reasons the hearts come together ; unknown are the reasons the things became the way they are ..maybe everything had a purpose ;maybe they did not .Life is not what comes to you , life is what you interpret of it ..live every moment ;for the moment will be gone

The Golden Axe

A story heard often..

There were 2 woodcutters A , B . They would go to the forest located on the banks of a river to cut wood .This they would sell & earn their livelihood. They would stand far away at different ends of the river bank, in order to give each other a fair share of the wood.

Their 2 WOODEN Axes, were the only priceless possession they had.

One day while they where cutting wood , their respective axes fell into the river .

Suddenly the river god appeared in front of B and said "what can i do to help you " , to which B said that he had lost his axe . The river god dived in and came back with three axes -a diamond, a golden and a wooden axe; he asked "is any of this yours ?" .To this B replied greedily "yes, both the diamond & golden are mine" . The river god swallowed him up .

Then the river god appeared in front of A and repeated the same process. A said only the wooden axe was his . The river god gifted him all three.

Moral of the story :
Honesty & ethics does get you results . In a corporate ,materialistic environment , it is easy to be distracted , seduced by riches & a desire to be dishonest ; the wrongs do catch up..never let your integrity , honesty be compromised

The 2 parrots

2 parrots were born to a holy parrot couple. These parrots had the gift to speak the human language.

At birth they got separated and one lived in a temple , while the other lived in the dark alleys of the crime world .

The one in the temple would always look hungrily at the food /money and the offerings the devotees brought to the temple. He always thought that living with these rich devotees or in a temple which had so many devotees ; would be such a delightful experience - a world of no needs , a world of satisfaction.

The parrot living in the dark alley saw little poor children trying to study hard , he saw the criminals coming back & repenting on their wayward behaviour , their crimes . He saw that most of them had a desire to lead a normal , honest life .The criminls talked about all the good they would want to do, but did not know how to.

As time passed , the parrot at the temple became greedier, lazier and was besotted with medical problems and could barely move. The parrot of the crime alley , listening to children read, hearing the good thoughts of bad people , became a renowned philosopher , who could counsel people , on the rights & wrongs ..people came from far & wide to listen to him...

On the day of judgement the temple parrot asked the crime alley parrot " why , even though I lived in a divine environment , I suffered , whereas you coming from a dark crime alley are loved by people ?"

the answer was -
it is not what lives throws you into , which determines your outcome ; but it is what you choose to do and how you react to what life gives you , defines the path you will walk .Destiny if what you make of each day .
